GEORGE KELLOYAN BEST OF MASTERS STYLIST/COLORIST & OWNER OF AVEDA EL COCO INTERNATIONAL!
George’s styling career began in 1988, when he graduated from Blaine. Upon graduation, he immediately set out to seek additional education in coloring and cutting, and was hired to work on Newbury St., Boston, early in his career.
In 1991 he opened his first AVEDA salon in the Boston waterfront. This was an exciting time in George’s career, as he was also able to travel to London’s Vidal Sassoon Advanced Academy for hands-on coloring and cutting techniques. At this time, he took his education global and also trained in more coloring and cutting techniques in Paris, Milan, Denmark, Amsterdam, and Sweden.
Working exclusively with AVEDA, George was able to attend industry shows in NYC, Minneapolis (AVEDA’s hometown), and LA, and received many awards in AVEDA coloring and cutting techniques. He also attended Haircolor USA, in Miami. During this time, George was able to peer with world-famous hair designers. including Yosh, Van Michael, and Yves Durif, and many Mark Hayes Sassoon, Ian Michael Black (Aveda).
In 1998, while George was working at the Vidal Sassoon Advanced Academy, he met his future wife Viktoria (Vika) and they were married in 1999. The pair have been working together ever since, and continuously seek education throughout the world, travelling to London on a yearly basis to stay up-to-date on trends in the industry. In fact, George invented and patented the Channel Coloring tool, which allows a stylist to put up to 4 colors into a single foil, resulting in the ultimate of multidimensional color.
In 2003 AVEDA El Coco outgrew its waterfront location and moved to its present home in Faneuil Hall. Throughout its history, the Boston El Coco has received many awards, including Best of Massachusetts ’02 and ’04 (as seen in Vogue Magazine), Best of Boston ’07 (as seen in Improper Bostonian), Best of Boston ’09 (as seen in Citysearch). George, Vika, and their stylists have worked New York Fashion Week, as well as numerous International Shows throughout London.
Viktoria has represented AVEDA El Coco by doing hair and makeup work for Simply Elegant PLATINUM Magazine bridal shoots. In addition, celebrities include Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas, Christina Applegate, Chris Cooper, Lenny Clark, Dr. Ruth, and many comedians.
In 2014 George and Viktoria opened the second AVEDA El Coco, located in Festival Plaza of Hyannis, MA, bringing Boston style and talent without the Boston pricing! They bring their extensive educational background of over 40 years of combined experience to Cape Cod, passing their knowledge on to their employees. They have ensured that all of their staff have been closely trained by AVEDA to exemplify the values of the AVEDA brand.
